Website Builder
for Beginners
🌱 Built for a first website
Not having done this before isn't a disadvantage here, because there is nothing you were supposed to learn first. No previous tool, no layout habits, no muscle memory. You start at the same place as everyone else: a site type and 10 questions.
OneBoot was put together around one question: can someone who has never built a website get through this without help? The answer is a short flow, a suggested answer on every question, and a site that is published for you when you're done.
🛤️ The 3-step beginner's journey
Here is the entire process. It is three steps, and none of them involve design software:
Three options: product or service, personal or portfolio, or event signup. Choose the closest one. Nothing is locked in — the free plan covers up to 2 sites, so you can build another one later.
Five are written for the type you picked, five are shared by all three. Every question comes with a suggested answer, so you can go through without typing a word, or write your own where you have something specific to say.
When you submit, OneBoot reads your answers, builds the page and publishes it at yourname.oneboot.io with HTTPS. There is no publish button to find. If you want something changed afterwards, describe it in plain language — 1 free change as a guest, 5 when you're signed in.
🚨 What if I get stuck?
Most people don't, because there is no blank page to get stuck on. If you do:
- Every question has a suggested answer — you can submit without writing anything and still get a finished site.
- Changes are asked for in plain language — say what you want different, and it gets changed. No editor to open and nothing to break.
- Help centre and FAQ — the questions we get asked most, answered in plain language.
- Email support — [email protected], answered by a person rather than a chat window.
📈 When your first site isn't enough
There is no ladder of modes to climb here: no basic mode, no advanced mode, no editor waiting at the end of it. The flow is the same for a first site and a second one.
What you get instead is room to run it again. The free plan covers up to 2 sites on one account, each starting from its own 10 questions, so if the first site doesn't say what you meant, the next one can. And when you want a change on something already published, you describe it — you don't rebuild it.
